What is meant by the concept of “reverse admissions”?
Traditionally, students will choose a university and make a direct application (often through UCAS, in the UK, for undergraduate studies). However, with “reverse admissions” we do the opposite – students create a profile and then universities review these and make a conditional offer. The process of making a profile is extremely quick and easy, with no need to write a personal statement/motivation letter. Students simply list up to three main subjects of interest and provide their previously achieved and predicted results (either A-Level or IB). Therefore, we are flipping the traditional model on its head, by instead having universities make offers to students and removing the need for direct applications. Note that Reverse Admissions is only available for UKbased international students and universities may want to have an online interview before making their conditional offer.
How can students make a Reverse Admissions profile?
Simply create an account and go ahead finalising your profile. Students can either use our web platform or download our mobile app to do this. Note that there are eligibility requirements for students. Please check these before making a profile
Benefits of Reverse Admissions
• Increasing options – students can hold more conditional offers; universities can access more UK-based international students.
• Allows for greater discovery – students are able to choose up to three subjects of interest and have the chance to receive conditional offers from university courses they may or may not have come across before.
• Saves time – making a profile is quick and easy for students; universities have access to our database and can review profiles and make offers efficiently.
• Ensures quality – our eligibility requirements for students set standards (e.g. to be a UKbased international student with minimum predicted grades of BBB at A-Level or 29 points on the IB). This helps universities. Equally, for students, it is useful for them to know that all courses offered through Reverse Admissions have been assessed and checked for quality by our team.
• Could mitigate the stress of UCAS Clearing – Clearing is a very busy and stressful period (for students and universities). Should a student be in a position of entering Clearing, they have the opportunity to already be holding some potentially very relevant and interesting university course options.
